McNicholas is a leading provider of services to the UK’s multi-utility, telecommunications, gas, power, water, renewable energy, and rail sectors. It had a revenue of over £170 million pounds in 2014, making it a high profile client with very specific needs that will affect a large number of people around the UK.
Precision and attention to detail where of the upmost importance whilst working on this project. It encompassed many skillsets, including photorealistic 3d rendering, web-design, programing and a deep understanding of the roadwork process.
The entire project was based upon images like the ones showed next.
One of the greatest challenges was to recreate a scene that looked realistic and that also kept all measurements and items in scale.
In order to create a platform that was as easy as possible, a top view rendering was made with clear signage and measuring.
As a final touch, all items on the 3d layouts had an interactive tag that would direct the user straight to the procurement page were the items could be bought.
